Program Description
The late J. Krishnamurti, a mystical giant of the 20th century, is perhaps best known for his instruction that each of us must discover our own path to truth. As Peter Wells explains it, “You have to find the truth within yourself. There is no real power other than the one within the self, within the soul.” Certainly Krishnamurti’s public life reflected this message in many ways. But his personal life is a testament to this belief in ways that will surprise even his closest followers. Through a series of serendipitous discoveries, Wells uncovered a story beneath the story of Krishnamurti’s life that makes this luminous figure seem even more human than before. He lovingly recounts the journey that revealed the truth behind some mysterious figures among Krishnamurti’s friends and followers, and that also inspired Wells to author Blue Dove, a musical play based loosely on the early life of J. Krishnamurti.
Peter Wells is a lifelong student of Krishnamurti and the author/executive producer of the play, Blue Dove, loosely based on Krishnamurti’s early life. He is an entrepreneur and the founder/innkeeper of the renowned Albion River Inn and restaurant on the Mendocino Coast of Northern California.
